Everett Alternative High School Integrated Math Teacher Grades 9-12

 

Description:

The Alternative High School Integrated Math Teacher is responsible for utilizing research-based pedagogical strategies to teach and engage diverse groups of students in grades 9-12. This Teacher is critical to the success of our alternative school program for overaged, undercredited High School Students.  The Alternative School Teachers must work collaboratively with the EHS Math Department Head, Re-Engagement Specialist, and Alternative High School Dean throughout the year to continually improve the experience and performance of our students.  The Alternative School Integrated Math Teacher must be flexible and willing to meet the scheduling needs of students within the night school schedule.  Teachers should be well versed in Massachusetts High School Mathematics Standards, as well as Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) practices and Universal Design to ensure access to content for all students.  Teachers must exercise culturally responsive practices to promote equity and respect for all students.

 

Working Time: Monday to Thursday from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM. 

 

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s Degree

-Massachusetts Teaching Licensure

-SEI Endorsement

 

Preferred Requirements:

-Master’s Degree in Education and/or Mathematics

-3 or more years of high school teaching experience

-Dual Licensure in Special Education and/or English as a Second Language

-Experience working in an urban public schools setting

-Foreign Language Proficiency
