ABA Paraprofessional

Description
ABA paraprofessionals work with students 1:1, in small groups, and in the inclusion setting in order to implement the principles of ABA with assigned students. ABA Paraprofessionals generally support students in PreK through grade 8. ABA paraprofessionals will support special education teachers and BCBA’s in increasing student’s academic skills, social skills, and adaptive behaviors.

 

Requirements 

• High school degree or higher
• Enjoys working with children and is dedicated to the education of all children
• Experience working in an urban district.
• EPS respects linguistic diversity and believes that candidates who speak another language bring value to the district culture and diversity.
• At least one year experience working in a data-driven, ABA setting
• One year experience working directly under a BCBA or approved trainer (by the BCBA) for at least one school year in the capacity of ABA paraprofessional.
• RBT certification preferred but not required

 Duties

• Implement daily individualized program protocols.
• Discrimination training, skill acquisition training, natural environment training, etc.
• Collect skill data – understand prompts and prompt hierarchies.
• Graph skill data – familiarity with equal interval graphs, celeration charting.
• Implementing ongoing behavior intervention plans.
• Graph behavior data daily.
• Analyze behavior data to report necessary modifications.
• Utilize response prompts and stimulus prompts.
• Conduct ongoing observations of student behavior.
• Conduct scheduled observations of student performance.
• Collect observational data.
• Report on student performance (from graphs/observations)
• Implement preference assessments
• Implement ABLLS/VB-MAPP as needed.
• Assist ABA classroom teacher with daily routines/activities.
• Assist with all domains of students’ learning: academic, social, self-help, communication, gross motor, fine motor, etc.
• Assist with student generalization of skills across school settings including the inclusion setting.
• Assist ABA classroom teacher as needed.
• Assist BCBA as needed.
• Participate in and implement SafetyCare training and strategies when appropriate.
• Responsible for supporting Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills (i.e. walking, feeding, toileting, and/or transferring), as needed.

Salary:

Salary for this position will be based on the Everett Paraprofessional Collective Bargaining Agreement. SY 26-27. Pay Range - $34,977.71 - $49,844.51.
