English Language Development Curriculum- Vet and Select Committee


Description: Everett Public Schools is seeking middle school (grades 6-8) ESL Teachers and Instructional Leaders to participate in a curriculum vetting process that analyzes high-quality English Language Development program options free of bias, aligned to the WIDA 2020 Frameworks and Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for ELA, and grounded in feedback collected from teachers, students, school leaders, and parents/guardians, pilots curriculum materials, selects a curriculum after analysis that meets the needs of diverse learners across classrooms in Everett, and planning for implementation in the future school year.

 

Time Commitment: The Committee will convene on Zoom from 3:00 pm-4:30 pm on the following dates:
? January 15, 2025
? January 29, 2025
? February 12, 2025
? February 26, 2025
? March 12, 2025
? March 26, 2025
? April 9, 2025 (subject to change)


Additionally, members of the Curriculum Council will be expected to participate in meetings with vendors and stakeholders and complete asynchronous tasks amounting to 20 hours (combined with meetings).

 

Requirements: Current assignment as a middle school ESL Teacher using Inside and/or Instructional Leaders/EL Coordinator with experience using Inside.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
? Rich and varied experience with literacy curriculum and instruction
? Understanding of language acquisition process and demands

 

Number of Positions: Up to 20 positions

 

Compensation: $800
