High School Math Peer Tutoring Coordinator
Description:
The Peer Tutoring Coordinator plays a key role in facilitating academic support in Math by overseeing the Peer Tutoring program. This position involves coordinating all aspects of tutoring, from recruitment and training of tutors to scheduling and program evaluation, to ensure students receive high-quality academic assistance from their peers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Coordination:
? Plan and manage the day-to-day operations of the peer tutoring program
? Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines for the program
? Match students requesting tutoring with appropriate peer tutors
? Collaborate with and update Math Department Head on all aspects of the program
2. Tutor Recruitment and Training:
? Recruit, interview, and select qualified peer tutors
? Provide initial and ongoing training to tutors, emphasizing tutoring techniques, communication skills, and academic support strategies
? Monitor and evaluate tutor performance regularly
3. Student Support:
? Serve as the primary point of contact for students seeking tutoring assistance
? Address student inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
? Assess the academic needs of students to match them with suitable tutors
4. Program Evaluation and Improvement:
? Collect and analyze feedback from students and tutors to improve program quality
? Prepare reports on program outcomes, participation rates, and student satisfaction
? Implement innovative strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the tutoring program
5. Administrative Duties:
? Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, schedules, and student progress
? Manage program budgets and resources, if applicable
? Coordinate with faculty, staff, and other departments to align tutoring services with institutional goals
Working Time/Dates/Modality: 50 Hours/ December 1, 2024- June 15, 2024/ In-Person
Requirements: Must be a current Everett High School teacher/ school leader in Unit A of Everett Teachers Association; Strong knowledge of Math instruction
Preferred Qualifications: Strong knowledge of needs of English Learners or Special Education students; Strong familiarity with the school and district; Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
Remuneration: $40/hour, according to Collective Bargaining Agreement
