EVERETT HIGH SCHOOL CAPSTONE
STEERING COMMITTEE

The EHS Capstone Steering Committee will consist of 15 EHS teachers or leaders who will oversee
and direct the culminating senior capstone experience for grade 12 students in pathway courses in
alignment with the EHS Vision of the Graduate (“The Tide RISES”) skills.

The Steering Committee will ensure implementation of common requirements, assessments, deadlines, and product quality for capstone students. Working with agreed-upon templates for student products, the Steering Committee
will evaluate and approve students’ project design plans as well as plans for the final Senior Capstone
Showcase.

The Committee will participate in ongoing review of capstone courses’ curriculum, pacing, and standards alignment. The Committee will ensure that all students’ culminating capstone experience challenges students to think critically, solve complex problems, and demonstrate their readiness for work in their field. Capstone projects will highlight students' structured work readiness activities and work-based learning experiences within their pathways and support them in
demonstrating the knowledge and skills gained throughout their experience.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be a current Everett High School teacher or administrator. Senior-level
pathway teachers, as well as ESL and Special Education teachers, are encouraged to apply.
