TV STUDIO PRODUCTION SPECIALIST
Job Summary
Under limited supervision, converts raw production elements to finished products for broadcasting. Uses character generators, switchers, and recording devices to acquire video and audio for program creation. Performs complex technical troubleshooting and assists with basic equipment repairs as needed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs manipulation of animated graphics, stills, animations, and titles. Edits audiovisual elements and monitors quality of programs to be broadcasted. Encodes council hearing and programs.
- Performs relevant roles in complex productions of live or recorded television programs either in studio or on location. Operates studio equipment such as cameras, switchers, servers, character generators, and audio and video recording devices to acquire media.
- Maintains a record of the production resources, equipment, projects, videotapes and other presentation materials.
- Performs complex troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment, assists with basic equipment repairs, and may resolve software issues.
Core Competencies
- Knowledge of production principles and methods and knowledge of editing software programs.
- Knowledge of master control systems, camera, videotape recorder, audio recorder, and typical office equipment.
- Knowledge of the agency's function and how it is administered in order to effectively monitor cable television operations in the District.
- Ability to use sound judgment in identifying issues and problems, in seeking solutions based on cable television rules, regulations, and procedures.
