6-8 Math Curriculum Vetting and Selecting Team
Description:
The 6-8 Math Curriculum Vetting and Selecting Team will support the process of vetting, selecting, and implementing a new high-quality math curriculum. The team will be composed of district leaders, school leaders, and educators from each of the K-8 schools. The team will work together to establish district priorities, instructional vision, curriculum parameters and non-negotiables, and implementation timelines. This team will also review and analyze high-quality instructional materials and narrow down options that best meet the needs of the Everett Public Schools.
Lastly, the team will elicit and analyze feedback from teachers and students of the piloting team to reach a consensus on a new 6-8 math curriculum to be implemented in the 25-26 school year.
Working Time:
- Meetings 2 times per month after school hours - at least 2 per month - The team will mutually decide dates. Meetings will occur between September and June.
- Times for meetings are 2:45 - 4:00 pm via Zoom. Meetings require being interactive.
Requirements: Current assignment as a 6-8 math, SPED, or EL teacher. The team will be composed of at least 1 teacher per school (Lafayette, Keverian, Madeline English, Whittier, Parlin, and Devens) and per grade level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rich and varied experience with math curriculum and instruction
- Strong growth mindset and collaborative skills
Compensation:: up to $1,600, based on $40/hour (40 total hours)
