High School English Language Arts Teacher

 

DESCRIPTION:

Everett High School English Language Arts teachers are responsible for utilizing research-based pedagogical strategies to teach and engage diverse groups of students in grades 9-12. High School ELA teachers must work collaboratively with the EHS ELA Department Chair and colleagues throughout the year to continually improve the literacy skills, academic performance, and educational experience of our students.

Teachers should be well versed in Massachusetts High School ELA Standards, as well as Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) practices, Depth of Knowledge, and best practices in teaching literacy to ensure access to content for all students. Teachers must exercise culturally responsive practices to promote equity and respect for all students.
