Parent ESL Teacher - Fall 2024

Description:
Everett Public Schools is offering ESL classes for parents and guardians of students who attend Everett Public Schools for Fall 2024. EPS is seeking enthusiastic teachers to facilitate meaningful learning experiences for our community.


We are seeking to hire teachers for the following courses:
? ESL 1 (Beginner) (up to 2 classes contingent on registration)
? ESL 2 (Intermediate) (up to 2 classes contingent on registration)
? ESL 3 (Advanced) (up to 1 class contingent on registration)

 

Responsibilities:
? Plan and facilitate engaging lessons either in person or via Zoom
? Assign independent work to be completed in between class sessions
? Communicate class schedule with a list of participants provided by the Family Liaisons; send out weekly reminders about class information
? Facilitate Lessons that incorporate vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking skills and utilize age-appropriate materials
? Use the WIDA can do descriptors when planning lessons
? Be responsive and helpful to participant questions and requests for additional resources; assist participants in navigating the technology necessary to access the class activities and assignments
? Maintain class attendance records and timesheet and share updates with the EL Director

 

Start Date: The fall session will start the week of October 21st and run through the week of December 16th with a break for the Thanksgiving week)

 

Hours: 3 hours of teaching plus 2 hours of prep a week for a total of $2000

 

Openings: 5

 

Requirements: Teaching License in ESL and/or SEI Endorsement

 

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience teaching EPS parent ESL classes. Bilingual/multilingual.
