EPS Before School Program Lead Teachers 2024-25


POSITION SUMMARY: Before school programming is an opportunity for students to connect to peers and teachers,
receive specialized support, eat breakfast, build community and get ready to participate in an academic school day. The
Before School program will provide up to 45 students in grades K-8 with before school programming that will include
physical activity, community building, and personal development.
Lead teachers will be responsible for taking attendance, leading enrichment activities, supervising breakfast,
communicating with families, supporting recruitment and retention of participants, and dismissing students to their school
day teachers.

 

WORKING TIMES: Programming will take place Tuesday-Thursday from 6:45-7:45am for 30 weeks. Teachers will each
have 20 hours of prep/overflow time spread across the school year for a total of 120 hours of working time.
Dates: October 7th- May 30th (Total of 30 weeks, skipping school holidays/vacation weeks).

 

REMUNERATION: $40/hr. Total maximum stipend amount: $4,800.00

 

NUMBER OF OPENINGS: up to 3 per school - K-2, 3-5, 6-8 at the Whittier and Lafayette schools (possibly others based
on interest)

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Coordinate with school nurse to plan for student health needs
? Develop and implement physical activity enrichment curriculum, using Active Kids and Minds/BOKS curriculum

? Create and oversee registration and outreach process, ensuring regular attendance of up to 15 students per age
group
? Communicate with staff and parents regularly
? Track student data in Aspen in order to assess program impact
? Manage student attendance and behavior interventions
? Coordinate with food services to ensure students receive breakfast
? Perform such other duties and assume all other responsibilities, which may be assigned by the Principals,
Assistant Principals, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and the Manager of Extended Learning

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
? Experience in organizing and leading youth education programs in a school setting
? Current EPS teacher

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
? Previous experience leading successful before/after school/extended learning programming
? Multilingual capacity
