DESCRIPTION:
The Everett Public Schools is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and motivated educator to teach skills-
based health education in grades 9-12.

 

REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education or equivalent
? Massachusetts DESE K-12 Health/Family and Consumer Science License
? SEI Endorsement
? Knowledge of standards-based instruction
? Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
? Demonstrate a commitment to excellence, equity, and high expectations for all students with
an emphasis on building strengths that students bring to the teaching/learning process
? Demonstrate energy and enthusiasm for health education and teaching
? Ability to collect, interpret, and disseminate data to teachers in order to improve instruction and
learning

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
? Experience working in an urban public school setting
? Language proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or French
? Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
? Strong collaboration skills

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
? Lead health and wellness classes utilizing curricula approved by the school district
? Create and implement health lessons, providing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all
students, while following the state and national health standards
? Monitor student progress through data analysis
? Demonstrate a strong understanding of social and emotional learning
? Utilize inclusive practices and SEI strategies for English Learners
? Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to ensure the success of students
? Participate in professional development sessions and common planning
? Provide a clean, safe and nurturing classroom environment

? Promote health and wellness initiatives within the school and community
? Build and maintain a strong school culture centered on student support and achievement
? Follow policies and procedures as set forth by administration

 

 

Salary:
Salary for this position will be in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between
the Everett School Committee and the Everett Teachers Association.
