2024-25 K-8 After School Enrichment Teachers EXTENDED LEARNING DEPARTMENT
Job Description: EPS is seeking after school enrichment teachers to lead meaningful and engaging programming during after school hours in a variety of program areas including STEM, art, athletics, leadership and more. Enrichment teachers are responsible for developing and facilitating their own curriculum. Each teacher has $150 to spend on supplies at one of our preferred vendors: Lakeshore Learning or S&S Worldwide.
Teachers must apply for each session that they would like to work. There are three 10 week sessions per year: ? Fall Session: October 7th-December 12th, 2024 ? Winter Session: January 6th-March 20th, 2025 ? Spring Session: March 31st-June 12th, 2025
Completed applications will be reviewed by the Manager of Extended Learning and final selections will be made by building leaders. Each school has availability for up to 6 clubs per session.
WORKING TIMES Once per week, 2:45 to 4 p.m, for 10 weeks per extracurricular club plus 8 hours of prep time and up to 2 hours of overflow time (in case of late dismissal/pickup). Note: The day of the week you select must not overlap with one of your contractual late days. No clubs can be scheduled on Fridays.
REMUNERATION $40/hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ? Plan and facilitate lessons informed by student interests - theater, music, gaming, creative writing, robotics, GSA/ Diversity club, dance, etc. Overviews will be required in advance of the program launch. ? Take regular attendance, document weekly activities, track student participation, and engage with families and students in order to ensure regular attendance of at least 8 students per club. This data will be shared with the Extended Learning Department. ? Use all available technology provided by the district to create engaging activities linked with 21st Century skills ? Manage group behavior with Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies that motivate students and limit disruptions ? Incorporate Social Emotional Learning standards that promote self-confidence, team-building and informed decision making ? Utilize inclusive practices and strategies for students with disabilities, English language learners, and other student groups
REQUIREMENTS ? Current EPS employee in good standing
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS ? 2 or more years of teaching experience in elementary and/or middle grades ? Multilingual capacity ? Previous experience leading successful enrichment programming in the Extended Learning Department
