Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – Devens School


The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will support the students of the Everett Public Schools in the areas of academics, social skills, adaptive behavior, communication, and overall school functioning through ongoing consultation with teachers, evaluation of student skills, ABA programming, and data analysis. The BCBA will oversee ABA therapists providing supervision and feedback as necessary. The BCBA will work collaboratively with the building-based EPS school principals, team of BCBAs in the district to improve evidence based practices and programming for students requiring services and support.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA)
  • Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst in MA (LABA) preferred
  • 1-2 years experience working in a public schools

 

Role/Responsibilities:
- Completion of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), including identification of target behaviors, interview of parent or staff, observation of students across settings, data collection, data analysis, and recommendations
- Development of research-based behavior support plans based upon direct and indirect measures of behavior
- Train staff to implement behavior support plans, provide modeling of plans, follow-up and feedback on plan implementation
- Consultation and collaboration with school staff and ancillary service providers, as well as outside service providers, and parents
- Provide progress updates at Team meetings, recommend behavioral services as appropriate, collaborate with classroom  teachers during progress reporting periods, write quarterly progress reports
- Facilitate meetings with classroom staff and parents as needed
- Develop curricula and programs to target skill acquisition
- Monitor student progress through data collection and observations across settings
- Recommend and train staff on research-based interventions including the use of reinforcement and antecedent interventions
- Documentation of ongoing consultation services and compliance with IEP services
- Clear communication with school teams and building principals
- Observe and supervise ABA Therapists, provide performance feedback to ensure treatment fidelity
- Attend training on de-escalation and restraint procedures, implement curriculum as needed

- Knowledge of the restraint regulations, proper documentation of incidents, and incident follow-up with staff
- Meet and consult regularly with building-based EPS school principals, Special Education Coordinator and other BCBA staff to collaborate and problem solve
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education, Assistant Director of Special Education, and Special Education Coordinators
