K-5 Report Card Update Committee (Elementary K-5)



Description: The K-5 Report Card Standard Review Team will review and make recommendations to update the current K-5 standards based report card. The team will collaborate with district and school leaders and the Instructional Coaches synchronously and asynchronously to review the following: current report card, Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, report card best practices, and standards taught in the core content areas and specialists. The team will work to solicit feedback from parents and families regarding new report card models, and create literature for parents on understanding how to read a standards-based report card. This committee will report to Rupi Kaur (K-8 STEM Director) and Louise DeSisto (K-8 ELA/Literacy Director). 

 

Working Time/Modality: Up to 20 hours between late July - September 2024, which will include both asynchronous work and synchronous work via Zoom. 

 

Synchronous meeting times will be: 

 

  • Wednesday July 24, 2024 9:00-10:00 AM
  • Wednesday July 31, 2024 9:00-10:00 AM
  • Wednesday Aug 7, 2024 9:00-10:00 AM
  • Monday Aug 19, 2024 9:00-10:00 AM
  • Wednesday Sep 11, 2024 3:00 - 4:00 PM
  • Wednesday Sep 25, 2024 3:00 - 4:00 PM
  • Any additional meetings will be scheduled at mutually agreed-upon times 

 

 

Requirements: Current K-5 Educator (including specialists)

 

Preferred qualifications: Three teachers per grade level (K-5), representatives of classroom, EL and Inclusion.  Qualified candidates should be familiar with the grade level standards for their grade and should have taught at their grade level for at least one year. Qualified applicants must have good communication skills, collaborate well with others,  and be self-motivated. 

 

Compensation: up to 25 hours at $40/hour or total of $1,000 per person (based on the number of teachers participating). The stipend will be paid in September 2024. 

 

Number of Positions: 18 (3 per grade level)
